Marion was a married woman with two sons and at least two daughters. In about 1850 her husband opened the Perth Road & Royal Stables. In 1875 he died and Marion became the proprietrix of the stables for the next 25 years, managing them with success, and becoming widely known and much respected. She died in Wormit, and much of what we know of her comes from the newspaper description of her big funeral: four ministers officiated, and along with many other mourners the directors of the Tramway Company attended in a body.
